The Black Angels – Live in Amsterdam 2010

The Black Angels are a psychedelic rock band out of Austin, TX. Bringing back memories of great bands like The 13th Floor Elevators & Spacemen 3, they channel their energy into magnificent drones and powerful rock music. Vocals are stunning, guitar work is tight. They are one of my favorites.

Earlier this year they played this set at Amsterdam’s Paradiso, a converted church which is a great venue that I have been fortunate enough to have seen a gig (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in November 2003). The set is mostly material from their last album, “Directions to see a Ghost”, but there are also some new songs and a few from the debut album, “Passover” as well.

01 You On The Run
02 Mission District
03 Black Grease

I wasn’t there, so Im not going to review it, but I am going to share the recording:
